Description
Club de Golf Lerma is an 18-hole, par 72 layout designed by Pepe Gancedo on La Andaya, a 220-hectare hunting estate in the heart of the Burgos countryside, opened in 1992. It sits right off the A-1 motorway at km 195.5, just over two hours from Madrid. The course is flat and easy to walk, with wide fairways and large greens, but the scorecard belies its reputation as an easy track: 6,378 metres and a slope of 138 from the white tees, with two par 3s over 200 metres and a Castilian wind that shows up often and dictates your club selection. It finishes with one of the most memorable 18th holes in Castilla y León: a 305-metre par 4 with a lake in front of the green, drivable off the tee for anyone bold enough to take it on.
