Description

Isla Canela Links is an 18-hole, par-72 course in genuine links style in Ayamonte (Huelva), on the left bank of the mouth of the Guadiana river, right on the border with Portugal. It occupies the former Costa Esuri course, which Isla Canela S.A. —also the owner of the neighbouring Isla Canela Golf— bought in August 2019 and reopened that November after an extensive redesign of the layout, with bermuda greens and a renovated clubhouse. It measures over 6,600 metres and runs through a protected landscape of marshes and dunes with open views over the river and the Portuguese Algarve. The gentle terrain makes it very comfortable to walk, but the wind, the wide bunkers and the large, fast, undulating greens demand strategy on every shot. It has hosted the Alps Tour, Stage 2 of the DP World Tour Qualifying School and the 2026 Challenge de España, and it is listed among the top 100 golf resorts in continental Europe. Facilities include a driving range with more than 15 artificial-grass bays, a putting green, a short-game area with a practice bunker and a clubhouse with a panoramic restaurant, café, terraces, golf shop and changing rooms. It is just 2 km from the A-49 Seville–Portugal motorway (exit 131, Ayamonte Norte).
